Strange Object

| July 9, 2006 1:00 AM

No one knew what the strange object was hovering by the North Star early Saturday morning. It reportedly moved across the sky like a satellite, then maintained a steady position for 30 minutes. When they investigated the report, Flathead County Sheriff's deputies didn't see anything suspicious.

A man called the sheriff's office when he believed he heard his neighbors firing a semiautomatic in an unsafe manner. A few minutes later, he called back to cancel: The noise had come from nearby road machinery.

Someone punched out the garage windows at the Martin City fire hall, leaving blood on the scene.

A woman was warned she'd be cited for disorderly conduct if she continued her "hooting and hollering" on Whitefish Stage Road.

Someone pulled a camper next to a man's house in Martin City and proceeded to have a loud party.

After a man nearly backed his vehicle into a woman's car, he got out and said he was going to tell everyone she ran into him.

A woman was thought suspicious when she was spotted taking pictures of mailboxes on Smith Lake Road.

When she heard a loud explosion for the fourth time in six hours, a woman called the sheriff's office.

A dog was listed among items stolen from a yard on Plentywood Drive.
