Loren "Bud" Frerich, 87

Loren "Bud" Frerich, 87, passed away Monday, June 26, 2006, at the North Valley Hospital in Whitefish.

He was born Dec. 8, 1918, south of Oswego, to John W. and Emma M. Frerich. In 1935, he moved to the Flathead Valley, north of Half Moon.

At the age of 18, he went to work in the woods, hauling logs. In 1962, he purchased school buses and was a school bus driver.

He enjoyed playing horseshoes, camping, fishing, golf, bowling and cheering his favorite team, the Atlanta Braves. He was a longtime member of the Moose Club. He enjoyed the different activities and the dances.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Frerich; a daughter, LaDonna Dehlbom; and a granddaughter, KaLee Role.

Bud is survived by his wife, Dorothy Frerich of Whitefish; daughter, Vonzie and Jack Role of Spokane; daughter, Vernell and Cliff Schellinger of Eltopia, Wash.; a son, Wayne and Kathy Frerich of Great Falls; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today, July 2, at the Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 3, at the Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls. The Rev. David Kauffman will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
