The Montana Wilderness Association is sponsoring two free workshops this weekend.

Winter survival workshops offered

The "Introduction to Winter Survival" workshop is offered from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.

On Sunday, the "Intermediate Winter Survival" workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Dress for the weather.

Bring a lunch, a cup for hot beverages, small notebook, and a sturdy knife.

Humane Society plans orientation for volunteers

Volunteers at the Northwest Montana Humane Society assist in animal care, community education, the reception area, foster care, fund-raising, dog walking and more.

If you can volunteer a few hours a week, come to the Humane Society's volunteer orientation at 10:30 a.m. today.

Help art studio today with visit to Margaritaville

Stumptown Art Studio, 145 Central Ave., in downtown Whitefish hosts a Jimmy Buffett Bash fund-raiser from 7 to 10 p.m. today.

Tickets are $30 a person and $55 for a couple, and include everything for a night in Margaritaville.

Paint your own margarita glasses, decorate your own flip-flops, feast on tropical food, play Buffett Bingo and more.

Proceeds help fund classes and workshops for children and adults.

Steal time to see 'Robin Hood' play

The Ruder Elementary School PTO and the Missoula Children's Theatre present two performances of "Robin Hood," at 3 and 7 p.m. today at the Columbia Falls High School's Little Theater.

Ticket prices are $3 for children, $5 for adults and $15 for a group of six.
