Wilfred Harlon Green, 94

Wilfred Harlon Green died Feb. 21, 2006, at the North Valley Hospital in Whitefish of natural causes.

He was born Oct. 29, 1911, in Florence, Minn., the son of Oscar O. and Hattie (Hanson) Green. Wilfred grew up in Sherman, S.D., and graduated from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D. He married H. Jean McKenzie of Fargo, N.D., in 1935.

Wilfred taught at Dakota Business College and then owned and taught at Fargo Business College. He then owned and operated the Sioux Oil and Fuel Company for many years.

He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Fargo.

After retirement, he and Jean traveled and spent time in Florida before moving to Scottsdale, Ariz. In 2004, they moved to Kalispell.

He is survived b a daughter, Diantha Green States, of Lander, Wyo., and her husband. Jack; a son, Kenneth H. Green, and his wife, Jeanine, of Whitefish; grandchildren, Jeffrey States in Vancouver, British Columbia, Janel States James of Flagstaff, Ariz., Brian Green of Portland, and Juline Green of San Diego; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Walen, of Eden Prairie, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, after 69 years of marriage; a sister, Rose Anderson; and a brother, Carvel Green.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Buffalo Room at Buffalo Hill Terrace in Kalispell. Graveside services for both Jean and Wilfred will be held this summer in Detroit Lakes, Minn.

The family suggests that donations in the memory of Wilfred be made to North Valley Hospital.
