There was a chase near the Blue Moon after Columbia Falls police arrested one person who reportedly was speeding through town. The other person, described as someone weighing more than 250 pounds, fled on foot.

Someone else ran away after reportedly crashing a red Chevrolet truck into the Trails West Eagle Bend real-estate building on Electric Avenue. The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating.

Someone smashed the window of a vehicle while its owner was cleaning the Little Brown Church near Bigfork. Two youths had entered the church and asked for money before that happened. When the owner went out to her car, her purse was missing from the damaged vehicle.

Two men separated after a fight on West Valley Drive.

Ditches were magnetic to vehicles when snow started falling Wednesday night. There were no serious injuries in ensuing crashes, including a three-vehicle accident Thursday on U.S. 2 near the Blue Moon.
