A 3-foot-tall Santa Claus

| December 18, 2006 1:00 AM

A 3-foot-tall Santa Claus - apparently stolen - was picked up by Kalispell police Saturday evening at the northeast corner of the intersection of Main and Idaho streets.

The jolly old elf was described as having a broad face and a little round belly that shook, when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly. Claus also had a cut-off power cord, and his right arm was cocked in a military salute.

Police arrested two men in the early Sunday morning aftermath of several men beating up another man in the parking lot behind Cattlemen's. A 25-year-old Kalispell man was arrested for possessing drug paraphernalia and failing to aid police. A 24-year-old Kalispell man was arrested for obstructing officers.

Officers arriving at an early Sunday morning loud party on Third Avenue East cited a 21-year-old man for endangering the welfare of children plus a 19-year-old woman, a 17-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy for possessing alcohol.
