Getting the jump at the Finish Line

| December 10, 2006 1:00 AM

Five guys jumped him outside the Finish Line - that's what the man told Kalispell police a little after 2 a.m. Saturday. When police and the Kalispell Fire Department ambulance arrived, however, he was nowhere to be found. No one inside had heard any sort of ruckus.

The man called a short while later to explain he hadn't wanted to chance being attacked again, so he'd walked to a friend's house on Main Street. He said he'd wait outside for officers to arrive. When they did, he berated them for taking so long to get there. The ambulance gave him a ride to the hospital.

When his wife left him at Sawbucks, where they'd been having a Christmas party, a man walked home. When he arrived, she reportedly started hitting him. They took her to the emergency room to get her hand examined, then escorted her to jail.
