Mishelle L. Woodring, 57

Mishelle L. Woodring 'FKA Michael,' 57, died at home of natural causes Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, in Kalispell. She was born June 22, 1949, in Liberal, Kan., to Earl E. and Louise (Grothe) Woodring.

She attended elementary school in Denver and Blind School in Colorado Springs, Colo., and later attended Great Falls School for the Deaf and Blind. Upon graduation in the late 1960s, Mishelle attended college in Eugene, Ore.

Mishelle then moved to Florida to be a sound engineer and also worked at a photo lab while there. She returned to the Flathead for some time and years later moved to Seattle. She was employed there working for the Light House for the Blind, making products for use in Boeing Aircraft. She also developed Blind Sight Braille while in Seattle and worked with Bill Gates in the transcription of some of his needed works into Braille. Mishelle then moved back to the Flathead and was a distributor for Melaleuca products.

Mishelle loved music and worked as a sound engineer for Tod Stillwell.

She loved her family and especially her nieces and nephews, her caregivers, and her pets, Nicholas, her dog, and Blue, her cat. She always said that driving was not all that hard as long as she had a good directional navigator.

Mishelle is survived by her parents, Earl E. and Louise Woodring; three brothers, Trace Woodring and wife, Kristina, and Kim and Eric Woodring, and one sister, Sue Cameron, and husband, Jim, all of Kalispell; nieces, Dana Cline Winn of Great Falls, Heather Woodring of Castlerock, Colo., and Stephanie Woodring of Kalispell; nephews, Matthew Woodring of Castlerock, and Parker Cameron, Story Cameron, Hayden Woodring and Cable Cameron, all of Kalispell.

Funeral services for Mishelle will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at Johnson Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be afterward at the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery in Kalispell. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at Johnson Mortuary.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital for Crippled Children, P.O. Box 2472 Spokane, WA 99210.
