Robert Charles Bob Wilson, 78, of Kingston, Idaho, died Aug. 6, 2006, at his home in Kingston.

He was born June 7, 1928, Mount Vernon, Wash., the son of James and Doris (Herrin) Wilson.

Bob served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

Bob married Irene Galloway on Nov. 18, 1982, in Anchorage, Alaska.

He and his wife Irene moved to Kingston in 2003 from Montana. Before living in Montana, Bob lived in Anchorage.

Bob worked as a bush pilot for 16 years and was known as one of the best. He was also a plane inspector. While in Alaska he also flew a mail route. After moving to Kalispell, he rebuilt an airplane and worked as a plane inspector here.

He was a member of the Whitefish VFW Post No. 276, the Moose Lodge, Teamsters Union, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pinehurst Ward.

Bob is survived by his wife, Irene, of the family home in Kingston; two daughters, Candy Heuser of Cottage Grove, Ore., and Judy Frank of Riverside, Wash.; a son, Cliff Wilson, of Cottage Grove; three stepchildren, Monica Williams of Spokane, Regina Hawks of Hawaii, and Shane Wyman of Kalispell; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Wilson, of Mount Vernon, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 21 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Pinehurst, Idaho, with the Bishop Paul Lewis presiding.

Cremation has taken place with his ashes to be taken back to Alaska.

Shoshone Funeral Services in Kellogg, Idaho, is in charge of arrangements.
