C-Falls claims first at Stevi speech tourney

Columbia Falls High School Speech and Debate cleaned up at the Stevensville tournament over the weekend, where 15 schools competed.

The Class A team racked up 123 overall points for a first-place finish, followed by Frenchtown with 80 points. Whitefish High School took third place with 58 points, behind Stevenville’s 68.

In Class AA junior varsity teams from Glacier and Flathead high schools competed. Glacier placed first with 114 overall points and Flathead came in second with 52 points.

In Class B-C, Bigfork High School finished in second with 21 points behind Loyola with 95.

Bigfork High School will be hosting a speech and debate tournament on Saturday, Dec. 8. Volunteers are still needed to judge events. No prior experience is necessary. People interested in judging may contact Bigfork Head Coach Charlie Appleby at cappleby@bfsd38.org.
