Emery K. Smith, 77

Emery K. Smith was born Feb. 7, 1943 in Trona, California to Lewis Keller Smith and Jeanette Hicks Smith.

He graduated from Charter Oaks High School, Mount San Antonio Junior College, California Polytechnic State University and California State University, Fullerton with a Master’s of Science in Engineering.

He taught math at Coville High School in Coville, California. He worked for General Dynamics in Los Angeles. He moved to Montana with Mary Ann Carlson to raise a family. He worked at the Columbia Falls Aluminum Company, then he started Flathead Video and Computer Connections businesses. He joined the Flathead Electric Co-op Board in 2003 and stayed with them until his passing on May 2, 2020 at his home in Kalispell.

He is survived by his son Emery and daughter Kathy.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. on June 6 at 106 Essex Place, Kalispell. Parking has been made available at Glacier High School for convenience.
