The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Council has decided to postpone the Spring Mack Days fishing tournament following Gov. Steve Bullock’s stay-at-home order issued Thursday.

The tournament on Flathead Lake is postponed until further notice. The Tribal Council plans to re-evaluated prior to April 10. Anglers will be sent notification regarding the possible outcome of the contest.

Top-10 anglers after opening weekend were: Jason Mahlen at 300, Michael Benson at 261, Scott Bombard at 260, Kolton Turner at 243, Sam Cusker at 233, Ken Varga at 228, John Gauci at 188, Jerry Benson at 186, Tyler Varga at 183, and Bob Turner at 178.

Mack Days is designed to improve the ecosystem of Flathead Lake by removing non-native trout.
