COVID-19 closures

| March 26, 2020 4:54 PM

• PacifiCorp’s recreation sites in Bigfork have temporary restrictions in response to the evolving COVID-19 situation. The Swan River Nature Trail is open, but restroom facilities are closed. The Pacific Park is closed, but the Powerhouse Park, South Shore River and Reservoir Access and Kearney Rapids Boat Launch remain open.

• The Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest is closing its campgrounds, day use sites and rental cabins to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The closures will not impact other Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest trails, trailheads or dispersed camping sites which remain open for the time being. The Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest is a sprawling one, with units starting at Marias Pass and extending all the way toward Helena and Great Falls.

The Flathead National Forest hasn’t yet issued the same directive, but currently most campgrounds on this side of the divide are either snowed in, closed for the season or inaccessible anyway.

• Jensen Jewelers in Kalispell is closing its physical store location until April 15. During this time the business will be unable to deliver any jewelry or jewelry repairs. However, customers may shop online at jensen-jewelers.com. Deliveries for orders and repairs will resume as quickly as possible after the store reopen. For questions call 877-724-1706 between 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.

• Northwest Montana Nature Photographers has canceled its April 14 meeting and will let its constituents know about the May meeting at a later date.
