C-Falls' Windauer and Hill make Class A girls all-state

Columbia Falls’ Josie Windauer and LaKia Hill were two of the 18 players named All-State for Class A girls basketball this week.

Hill is one of two juniors to make the select team; she averaged 9.9 points and 3.9 rebounds for the Wildkats, who went 16-4. Jaylea Lunceford of Ronan, who averaged 11.5 points and 8.8 rebounds, was the other junior.

Three sophomores – Madeline Gilder of Corvallis, co-champion Billings Central’s Mya Hansen and Sadie Filius of Havre – made the team as well as freshman Taryn Searle of Hamilton, who averaged 11.1 points per game.

The rest were seniors, including Gatorade Player of the Year Kyndall Keller of Havre. Keller, a University of Montana signee, averaged 20.1 points this season. Havre’s Kadia Miller also made all-state.

Co-champion Hardin – there were no championship games at state because of the coronavirus COVID-1 – had three players make all-state: Marie Five, Sossity Spotted Wolf and Ivery Fritzler.

Columbia Falls’ Windauer averaged 11.7 points and 8.6 rebounds and was the Northwestern A’s co-most valuable player along with Dulci Skunkcap of Browning (12 points, 4.8 rebounds). Those two were joined on the all-conference first team by Hill, Lunceford and Tamika Guardipee of Browning.

Representing the Wildkats on the second team were sophomore Maddie Robison and junior Hannah Schweikert. Whitefish junior Gracie Smyley also was second-team all-Northwestern A.
