Jeanette Adele Hoxmer, 79

| March 13, 2020 1:00 AM

Jeanette Adele Hoxmer passed away peacefully to the Lord on Feb. 4, 2020.

She was born in Kalispell on March 1, 1940, to Charles and Dora Therrien. She was the middle child with both an older and younger brother. She attended St. Matthew’s School and earned the nickname, Butch, because of her strong, fun-loving personality and extreme leg-wrestling skills. Jeanette spent most of her life in the Flathead Valley and graduated from Flathead County High School in 1958, the year she married her high school sweetheart, Gary. Gary enlisted in the Navy, and they lived on Coronado Island in California early in the marriage.

Jeanette was a wonderful mom who loved her children dearly. She stayed at home with them in the early years, and during that time, she developed a passion for horses and sewing. When she wasn’t working on keeping the house spotless, she would accompany her daughters to horse related activities, including traveling across the country for shows. When her kids were old enough, she “ran” the family business, Western Neon Sign Company, as the bookkeeper, receptionist, secretary and customer service guru.

During her later years, Jeanette “Nana” was devoted to her two grandchildren, Colter and Bridger Goss. She attended any and every activity that they were a part of, and spoiled them with love, affection and a lot of video games. She also spoiled her sweet dog Hanna with plenty of dog treats and cuddles. She loved sewing, making purses, embroidering and especially quilting. Her close family will all cherish the beautiful quilts she gave as gifts.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gary, her daughters Laurie and Geralyn, and her parents.

Jeanette is survived by her son Steven Hoxmer and daughter Valerie Goss of Kalispell, grandson Colter Goss of Panama City Beach, Florida, grandson Bridger Goss of Kalispell, and brothers Jack and Terry Therrien of Kalispell.

No services are planned, but a celebration of life is planned for the summer of 2020.
