Dream Adaptive Recreation hosts its Snow Ball Gala from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. today from at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake.

The evening features dinner, a no-host bar, silent and live auctions, music by Halladay and Rob Quist, keynote Montana native auctioneer Bobby Roshon, emcee Janice Lake and adaptive X Games medalist Kevin Michael Connolly.

Tickets are $85 per person, $160 per couple and $625 for a table of eight.

The fun-filled all-abilities Shred-a-Thon is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, at Whitefish Mountain Resort.

Families and individuals are invited to enjoy a sunset snowshoe hike from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today at the Wayfarers Unit of Flathead Lake State Park, Bigfork, Meet at the Ranger Station.

Rental snowshoes are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. If there is no snow, this will be a traditional hike. Reservations are recommended. Call 837-3041.

The fifth annual Free the Seeds! Event runs 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the Arts & Technology Building at Flathead Valley Community College.

This year’s event will offer 40 educational booths, interactive workshops, activities, as well as a seed swap with more than 10,000 packets of seeds available.

The fair will also have panel discussions on a variety of reduce, reuse and recycle topics.

Free the Seeds! is a program of the nonprofit Farm Hands — Nourish the Flathead and can be found online at freetheseedsmontana.com.

Learn the basics of building an LGBTQ-inclusive community at a special seminar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Whitefish United Methodist Church, Wisconsin Avenue. The event is free. Lunch and childcare will be provided.

The Flathead Building Association Home and Garden Show is this weekend at the Trade Center at the Flathead County Fairgrounds in Kalispell. This year’s theme is “Get Inspired.” Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

At least 140 exhibitors will be on hand, from flooring experts and furniture stores to landscapers and paint representatives. Attendees will have a chance to win the grand prize, a $1,000 shopping spree.

The Hockaday Museum of Art hosts a Community Free Day

scheduled around the recent opening of New Artists 2020: High School Student Exhibition, and the ongoing exhibition, “Looking at Landscape: the Work of Dale Beckman and Richard Thompson.”

Admission to the museum is free.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks hosts a great gray owl citizen science program training and orientation from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Lone Pine State Park, near Kalispell. Learn how to collect data on these secretive raptors for a multi-year study.

Bigfork MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) host a Family Fun Day fundraiser from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Bigfork Elementary School.

Enjoy carnival games, a bounce house, face painting, cake walk and more. Admission; donations are welcome. Proceeds support the nonprofit organization.
