| March 4, 2020 2:00 AM

Wauneta Fern Roth, 91, passed away Feb. 29, 2020, at Edgewood Vista Care Facility in Kalispell.

Wauneta was born on Aug. 5, 1928, in Shickley, Nebraska, to Lena and Menno Eichelberger. She attended grade school and graduated from high school in Shickley. Through her years of school she met the love of her life, Glenn Roth. She and Glenn were later married in 1949. Together they worked on their family farm. In September of 1950 they welcomed their first and only son, Dennis Roth.

They continued to work on the farm as a family until they decided to move to Montana in 1965, making their forever home together.

After the move to Montana, Wauneta soon became a counselor. This job brought her to an office at the Faith Alliance Church where she continued her counseling practice for a total for 30-plus years. Wauneta also took on a job as the custodian at Woodland Clinic. In her spare time through the years she was also a quilting instructor at Flathead Valley Community College.

Wauneta lived a life of good ol’ fashioned hard work. She never slowed down and was always gardening in her beautiful garden, baking for her friends and family, or burning anything she could find around the farm. She was the true definition of a hardworking woman. As Wauneta became ill it was very hard for her to have to give up so many things she loved. And though her body was strong, her mind became weak.

Wauneta was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Glenn Roth; her grandson, Justin Roth; sisters, Edna and Wilda; her brother, Don; and her parents, Menno and Lena Eichelberger.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Roth (Rhonda) of Hot Springs; her two grandsons, Jamie Roth (Heather) and Chad Roth (Brandi); her four grandchildren, Kaiya, Colton, Harlie and Kenlie Roth, all of Kalispell; sister Marge Kennel and brother Larry Eichelberger. both of Nebraska.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 6, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home with graveside services immediately to follow at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.

The family requests any donations be made in memory of Wauneta to Adventure Church in Kalispell.
