Man seeks clarity on rooftop

Kalispell Police Department responded to a report of a man on a roof near an apartment building on Third Avenue West when someone called out of concern for his safety, when the man supposedly slipped and almost fell. The man said he was OK and supposedly went out on the roof “to do some thinking.”

A man allegedly suspected a neighbor used a very high-pitched whistle to debilitate his dog, but did not witness anything or anyone harming the dog, which he said was acting funny because it was not standing up; it was falling over and scratching its ears. He was advised to take his dog to the vet to be treated and so that symptoms could be documented and given to police. The man reportedly said he was not in a position to take the dog to the vet and did not want to pay for it.

Someone thought they saw smoke coming out of the basement of a house next to Liberty Street. The smoke reportedly turned out to be a small grass fire started by a cigarette.

A woman was allegedly digging through garbage and throwing trash in an alley. She was advised to stay out of people’s garbage.

An employee on First Avenue East North asked police to remove a minivan with transients that was parked near another business. Police spoke with a man who claimed he would move to a place he had lined up on private property.

A woman left her car at a location overnight to allegedly return and find the tires slashed and a rear window smashed.

Someone thought they saw an intoxicated elderly man wearing a hat and green pants walking in the middle of the road on Main Street. Officers were unable to locate the man.

A woman found two kittens underneath her car that appeared to be too young to survive on their own. One was taken to the shelter.

A woman requested extra patrol in her neighborhood after finding a window smashed on her daughter’s vehicle and noticing two other vehicles in the area had broken windows.

A man delivering food called police because he was lost.

A woman was heard screaming and screaming and someone claimed it was an ongoing issue and that she was probably intoxicated because she “drinks a lot.”
