| June 28, 2020 1:00 AM

Lucille “Pat” L. Bermel, 93, of Bigfork was granted her angel wings on June 22, 2020.

Pat was born March 15th in Randall, Minnesota, during the flood of 1927 to David and Verena McGuire. Doctor S. G. Knight had to come in hip waders to deliver her. She attended school in Lincoln, Minnesota through second grade, Randall through eighth grade, and graduated from Little Falls High School in 1945.

She married James (Jim) Bermel June 19, 1947, in Randall. They lived and worked in Minneapolis for a short time before settling back in Randall to raise their family. Pat and Jim moved to Bigfork in 1973 where they owned and operated the Echo Lake Store/Bermel’s Store until a few months following Jim’s death in December 1982.

Pat had an infectious laugh and smile and was a great cook and baker. Grandma Pat cherished the time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to celebrate Christmas with the family and stuff many stockings. She was a lifetime member of the Minnesota VFW Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by husband Jim, son Timothy, and two brothers, Gerald and Richard.

Survivors include children David Bermel (Pamela), of Bigfork; Debra Kohan (George), of Crosslake, Minnesota; Steven Bermel (Laura), of Polson; Susan Senti (Wesley), of Virginia Beach, Virginia; sisters Betty McGuire of Anchorage, Alaska and Karen Helmerick of Boynton Beach, Florida, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral and graveside ceremony will be family only. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. All are welcome to visit www.jgfuneralhome.com to share memories of Pat or condolences with the family.
