Street named Gatorade Montana girls track and field Athlete of the Year
Make that two in a row. Columbia Falls grad Angellica Street was named the Gatorade Montana girls track and field Athlete of the Year for the second straight year.
Street, a two time state javelin champion, set the all-class state meet record in 2019 with a thrown of 156-11.
In May of 2019, Street’s 158-8 throw was the No. 4 mark nationally among prep athletes.
“Angellica is an amazing talent,”Scott Smith, assistant coach of Whitefish High School, said in a press release from The Gatorade Company. “She has a huge arm and a great work ethic to go with it. She is every coach’s dream. An athlete like her does not come around too often.”
In January, Street signed a national letter of intent to compete in track and field at Texas A&M on an athletic scholarship.
