Lakers A drop two to Helena

The Kalispell Lakers A nearly came back to beat the Helena Reps but lost 7-6 on three late runs but the Reps in the first game of a double header at Griffin Field on Saturday.

Kalispell went down four runs in the first inning but chipped away at the deficit and led 6-4 until the seventh.

Charlie Hinchey pitched six innings, allowing four hits and four runs with four strikeouts.

In the second game, the Reps scored two runs each in the fourth and fifth innings to take the lead, which held until the end. The Reps won 4-3.

Max Holden pitched for Glacier. He allowed seven hits, four runs with five strikeouts and one walk through seven innings.

The Kalispell Lakers B hung on to edge the Spokane Expos 17U 8-6.

Kalispell scored five runs in the third inning for a six-run lead that Spokane did its best to erase.

Ian McMann started on the mound for the Lakers and allowed five runs on six hits.

The Lakers committed no errors in the field.
