Montana man sentenced to life in prison in double homicide

HAMILTON, Mont. (AP) — A judge has sentenced a western Montana man to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to fatally shooting his mother and the mother of his two children.

Logan Dallas Christopher, 25, pleaded guilty in May to two counts of deliberate homicide and attempted deliberate homicide after also trying to kill his father, hours after Christopher's parents confronted him about his illegal drug use, the Ravalli Republic reported.

Marissa Wahl, 25, and Tiffanie Greenslade, 47, were shot in a trailer on March 10 where Christopher and Wahl lived with their two children, ages 3 and 11 months, authorities said. Christopher shot his father Noe Christopher, 57, before fleeing the Stevensville home.

Christopher was arrested in Missoula following a police pursuit. He won't be eligible for parole until he turns 60.

His two children will be raised by their grandfather, Christopher's father.

“You left me with them,” Noe Christopher said. “They ask about you and Marisa and I’m not quite sure what to say to them. I let them know they are loved. It’s probably one of the toughest things that anyone could ever go through, but with the help of the community, friends and family, we’ll get through it."

Ravalli County Attorney Bill Fulbright said after the hearing that Logan Christopher told investigators that he had a blackout and panicked.

“I don’t think we’ll ever know what tripped him over the edge, whether it was a combination of anger, drug use or domestic stress. Whatever the trigger was, once he started with the killing of the mother of his children, nothing was going to stop him until his own life was put in danger," Fulbright said.
