Faye McKenzie Holm, 83

Faye McKenzie Holm passed away on June 23, 2020.

Faye was born Dec. 1, 1936, in Whitefish to Ed and Laura McKenzie.

Faye grew up working with her sisters and parents at the family-owned Bay Point Resort in Whitefish. They rented cabins, led horse rides and took guests on tours of Whitefish Lake on the Ranger, a boat built by Ed McKenzie. The family also owned and operated Bay Point Drive-In Theater and Grill.

In high school Faye was a member of the ski team, newspaper staff, and Who’s Who of American students. After graduation she married the love of her life, Carl Holm. Together they had four children.

Faye enjoyed garage sales, reading, hosting family dinners and traveling. She also had a lifelong love of horses. Faye also enjoyed monthly classmate luncheons with childhood friends from Whitefish. She was also a member of a weekly breakfast group in Columbia Falls.

Faye was preceded in death by husband Carl, and son McKenzie “Mac.”

Faye is survived by daughters, Carla Holm and Laura (Scott) Prichard of Columbia Falls; son, Gene (Cheri) Holm of Kalispell; 11 grandchildren; three sisters, Sue O’Leary of Iowa, Nancy Garrett of Kalispell, and Kona Luke of Columbia Falls.

Faye was interred at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia Falls with Carl and Mac at a small family gathering.
