Disabled vet finds abandoned kittens

| July 3, 2020 1:00 AM

A man discovered a litter of six kittens abandoned under a tree on his property. He said they appeared to be about four weeks old and they wouldn’t drink milk. He explained he was a disabled veteran with no transportation, but there was no Animal Control officer working on the day he called. He was told if the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office “could spare the help, they could send an employee to pick up the kittens.”

A Columbia Falls woman required extra patrol from law enforcement in her area because she said her dogs were “freaking out,” so she suspected there might have been a person on her property, even though she never saw anyone.

A woman was apparently evicted from a property and then two weeks later she showed up intoxicated and kicked in the front door.

Someone was determined to scare off some teenaged boys in black sweaters from her area. She didn’t report them for doing anything disturbing or illegal, but her roommate apparently went out to confront them and they “took off.” They were later apparently spotted in the back yard of the property so the caller requested extra patrol.

A woman in her 70s was apparently “acting crazy” in front of a business. She was reportedly “screaming at nobody, just yelling into the air” and she allegedly wanted to make her way to Idaho. She was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Five boys were reported for driving recklessly after purchasing fireworks at a stand and, in the process, damaging the stand.

An elderly man called to ask about the appropriate hours to shoot off fireworks. He also mentioned his wife had recently gotten home from the hospital.

A current tenant of a property got into an argument with the new buyer of the space, and the new buyer threatened to shoot the current tenant’s dog.

A mailbox was apparently blown up with a “sparkler bomb.” The mailbox owner decided not to file a report.

A neighbor was concerned about a “horse that is being neglected.” She felt bad because her neighbor allows two of their three horses to graze on their property, but the third “just sits in the bay.” An officer promised to drive through the area to check out the horses, but he informed the caller “sometimes there are reasons for not allowing a horse out on the green grass.”

A woman said an internet provider purportedly was throwing phone books out the window of a car and she considered this to be “littering.” She was upset because the books are “unwanted.” She was advised to complain to the internet company, but she insisted she wanted a law enforcement response.
