Take part in Inter Lake’s ‘thank you’ campaign

| August 2, 2020 1:00 AM

Fraught with virus-induced angst, economic challenges and civil unrest, 2020 has exceeded expectations for all the wrong reasons. It’s been a trying year from the jump, and it’s only August.

Yet in spite of this shroud of uncertainty that stubbornly cloaks the nation, glimmers of kindness and love continue to shine through all around us. We just have to be willing to look for and embrace these moments.

The Inter Lake wants to do its part to highlight these instances of goodwill and decency. Next month we will publish a special section dedicated entirely to personal messages and thank you notes to those in the community who are making Northwest Montana a better place.

We’ll need your help to make it happen. Take a few moments over the next few days to reflect on the people in your life who go out of their way to make a difference in the community. Jot down those thoughts in a short note — 200 words or less — to be published in print.

It could be as simple as acknowledging a local delivery person who takes time to ask about your day. Maybe it’s a health-care worker who makes hospital visits more tolerable. Or possibly it’s a police officer, teacher or religious leader who’s left a positive impact on the community.

Email your thank you notes to edit@dailyinterlake.com. Letters must include first and last name, city of residence and phone number for verification purposes.

Help us illuminate the kindness that permeates Northwest Montana, because all of us could use a dose of joy in 2020.
