Eureka’s Schmidt winner at Cut Bank Invitational

CUT BANK — Eureka’s Nathan Schmidt pinned Ty Curry of Valier to win at 138 pounds at Cut Bank Booster Invitational wrestling on Saturday.

Eureka nearly had another winner in Hank Dunn (152), who lost a tie breaker to Connor Harris of Havre in the first place match.

Another Eureka wrestler, Kyle Durden, won by decision over Roper Mycke to take third place at 126.

Johnny Fehr, who advanced to the 170 semifinal, was pinned by Isaiah Alik of Missio. Fehr took sixth after losing by decision to Gaten Wassenberg of Whitehall.

Camren Ross was Whitefish’s highest-placing wrestler, coming in fourth at 160, pinned by Orion Thivierge of Havre in the third-place match.

Eureka placed sixth overall out of 29 teams. Whitefish was 20th.
