GREAT FALLS — Flathead’s wrestlers placed fifth at the AA Duals on Saturday.

Flathead lost to Billings Senior for third place in a battle that came down to the final match.

Flathead beat Butte, which finished fourth.

“We are very proud of the improvement of this team,” Flathead coach Jeff Thompson said.

“We battled and are really opening up our offense. We show a lot of promise heading into state in a few weeks. Dillon Yeadon had one heck of a day on the mat today. He won three matches and was in the hunt in his fourth. Fin Nadeau and Tanner Russell were absolutely fantastic. These guys are so fun to watch. Brendan Barnes and Sebastian Koch were both 3-1 and are winning the close matches. Damian Naldrett sealed the win for us versus Big Sky for fifth.”

Match results for Flathead were not available.

Flathead has two regular season duals left — at Helena Capital and Helena High on Saturday.

GREAT FALLS — The Wolfpack dominated Missoula Hellgate 56-18, but lost tough tests to Great Falls C.M. Russell 45-25, Helena Capital 46-24 and Butte 48-24 at the AA Duals.

“I thought we battled really well against Butte and Capital, tightening the score against both teams since seeing them last,” Glacier coach Ross Dankers said. “It was nice to see that progress.”

Glacier’s Cody Frost (113) was 2-0 while Tristan Little (120), Lance Fretwell (126), Caden Willis (152) and Camryn Vergeront (285) were all 3-1.

Glacier wraps up regular season action this week with four duals — Tuesday at Polson, home versus Columbia Falls on Thursday and Saturday at Helena Capital and Helena High.
