Eureka, Libby girls post hoop wins in league play

TROY – The Eureka Lions routed District 7B opponent Troy 66-19 in girls basketball play at Troy High School on Saturday.

Eureka (6-2 overall, 3-0 district) outscored Troy 20-2 in the first quarter and led 37-12 at the half. The Trojans did not score in the fourth quarter.

Sienna Utter led the Lions with 21 points and racked up four assists. Maggie Graves had five rebounds in addition to 12 points, and Karlee Frost had six steals and 11 points.

Browning improves to 8-3 overall, 5-0 conference, while Whitefish falls to 3-7 and 1-4.

Tamika Guardipee led Browning with 13 points.

Polson led 49-39 after three quarters. Libby had a strong finish, outscoring Polson 13-11 in the fourth, but fell short.

Colton Graham led the way with 19 points for the Pirates and Trevor Schultz scored 14.

For Libby, Keith Johnson scored 22 points and Ryggs Johnston pitched in with 18 points.

TROY – The Troy Trojans downed the Eureka Lions in District 7B play.

The Lions led 28-22 after three quarters but Troy outscored Eureka 20-10 in the fourth quarter to charge ahead for the win.

Trever Hoagland led Troy with 15 points and Eureka’s Cory Chaney led all scorers with 20 points.
