The sister scoring combination of Skyleigh Thompson, a sophomore, to Shayenn Thompson, a senior, produced both goals in Flathead’s 2-0 Western AA girls soccer victory on Thursday over Missoula Sentinel at Kidsports Complex.

Shayenn Thompson netted her first goal at 58 minutes and followed with the second at 65.

Skyleigh Thompson assisted on both as Flathead improved to 2-5-1 overall, 2-3-1 league.

“They work really well together and with the team, too,” Flathead coach Bledy Doda said of the Thompsons. “Our team helps them a lot also.”

Flathead outshot Sentinel 12-8 and led in corner kicks 4-1. Aaris Hill had eight keeper saves for the Bravettes.

“We came with our game, did our job,” Doda said. “I’m so happy with the girls, how they played today.”

“Our defensive line played an absolutely stellar game today,” Glacier coach Brenden Byrd said. “We had some-point blank shots we missed. If they had gone in, I think it would have been a momentum changer for us.”
