Columbia Falls High School, Sr.
Soccer, Basketball, Track & Field
The 2015-16 seasonís strongest girls sports program in Northwest Montana was in Columbia Falls, where the Wildkats won a state championship in volleyball and were serious title contenders in a handful of other sports.
Senior Ellie Johnson found herself right in the middle of much of the action, starting in the fall where she earned all-state honors on the soccer pitch by scoring 12 goals and handing out 11 assists, helping Columbia Falls to the state tournament. Johnson dished out more assists in the winter, running the point for a Wildkats basketball team that lost in the state championship game.
The senior closed her career in style in the spring, winning a state title as part of the 4x100-meter relay team and claiming four other all-state finishes.
The byproduct of being part of a successful program is, of course, that the players get to do a whole lot of winning. In the fall and winter, Johnson lost only six games, or about 16 percent of the contests in which she participated. Johnsonís Wildkats basketball and soccer teams went a combined 29-6-2.†
