LETTER: Will grizzlies go the way of Cecil?

Print Article

People all over the world are outraged by the senseless killing of the African lion named Cecil in Zimbabwe by the Minnesota dentist.

We all need to wake up and pay attention because this is exactly what will happen to the grizzlies as soon as they are removed from the Endangered Species List. Ask anyone who works for Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks or the U.S. Fish and Wildlife.

The only way to keep grizzlies from being hunted is to keep them on the Endangered Species List. If you want grizzlies protected and not needlessly killed by trophy hunters, please speak up. —Charlotte Heldstab, Whitefish
