Fire hits two old vehicles but kept from structures

Firefighters were able to save a shed and chicken coop threatened by a car fire on Wednesday night.

Smith Valley Fire Chief DC Haas said firefighters responded to a field near 119 Wettington Drive at approximately 7:15 p.m.

An old car was on fire. The fire claimed another disabled vehicle, but firefighters were able to knock the flames down before they spread to nearby structures.
