In recognition of November being named “Montana Women’s Month,” the Northwest Montana Posse of Westerners and the Museum at Central School is featuring a special showing of the 1962 film “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance,” starring Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne and Lee Marvin.

Sponsored by Kalispell Video Plus, the film will be screened at the Museum at Central School, 124 Second Ave. E.N., Kalispell, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14. It is free and open to the public.

The movie was based on the short story of the same title by Dorothy Johnson. Johnson rose from humble roots in Whitefish to become recognized as one of the most well-known writers of American Western fiction.

The Northwest Montana Posse of Westerners’ mission is to encourage and promote interest, research in and archiving of the history of the American West in general and Northwest Montana specifically.
