HAMILTON - Havre's best offensive quarter turned out to be the third and the Blue Ponies rode that power surge to a 51-43 loser-out victory over Whitefish at the Class A girls' state basketball tournament on Saturday morning.
Havre outscored Whitefish 17-9 in the third quarter and 28-16 for the half.
Whitefish led at halftime, 27-23.
The loss ended the season for Whitefish (14-10). The Bulldogs went 1-2 in state tournament play.
Chelsea Ray and Kate Klundt led the Bulldogs offensively with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Havre's Katie Mariani led all scorers with 16 points.
