To the Hon. Max Baucus, United States Senate:

I am a 17-year-old junior at Whitefish High School. I am aware that your job is to represent me, and seeing that you were unaware of my existence up to this point, I would like to inform you of one of the places I would expect you to stand politically.

As a Senator, his job is to represent the interests of the state, not any individuals. That is the job of our single representative.

This is the man who helped shove ObamaCare down our throats. I was done with him then. I can't believe we didn't push Tester out of office. I have an even harder time believing Obama won. This is just scary.

I don't know how Baucus could represent us, as he doesn't even have residence in Montana anymore! Max served us ok for a long time, but his time has come and he needs to find a nice place to retire too!

Baucus. Montana's true shame and the epitome of a "pork-barrel politician". Caleb, I'm nearly five times your age, and I pray you keep the fire in your gut as I have. Baucus continually tells us "I'm doing what I think is right for Montana".
Caleb, if you remember being taught the right kind of US political history, you'll also remember something that Baucus and Testor have never done. IE: Baucus, we sent you to Washington to do three simple things. Read every single proposal and bill that crosses your desk, return to Montana and explain them in plain language to us and then return to Washington and VOTE THE WILL OF YOUR CONSTITUENTS!.

He's never done this Caleb, and I truly hope that this pork-barrel, self serving kind of politician won't dampen your spirits. Follow your words. Help remove this special interest outsider from office and send him where he belongs. Back to Washinton as a resident and a lobbyist. He's most certainly not a Montanan.
Stick to your guns, young man. You're the kind of future we all need here.

Excellent letter Caleb. My experience writing letters to Max Baucus has been zero responses other than computer generated blather in reply. I will be looking for your activity when next Baucus comes up for reelection, and would enjoy working with you. He has sucked at the government's trough long enough.

Unfortunately, Max will most likely do whatever Comrade Obama tells him to do. That's just how Comrade Obama's regime works.

Refreshing and well written Caleb. Of all the requirements for Eagle earning Citizenship in the Nation merit badge was the most difficult badge for me to earn over 50 years ago. I sense that has not changed for many scouts. It was difficult for me to isolate a pertinent topic. You have found a great topic and confronted the senator with facts written in plain language. I hope you are well on your way to Eagle scout.

I admire your "Fear This" attitude. It is what we need.

It's unfortunate young Mr. Knox has put so much effort into writing a letter to Baucus only to be disappointed. Baucus answer will 'dance' around the topic and provide a bureaucratic answer that that says nothing. It will be Mr. Knox's first experience with the frustration of dealing with a public official. Baucus has made a long career of saying nothing and doing little except kowtow to Montana's farm-ag industry. He has little to fear from anyone not representing that lobby. Nonetheless Knox has given the Senator a little something to chew on.
