Candidates for the Flathead County District 1 commissioner seat gave a sense of how they would govern to members of the Glacier Pachyderm Club in Kalispell Friday.

Five of the eight GOP candidates vying for the late Commissioner Jim Dupont’s seat spoke briefly, fielding some questions from the Republican loyalist audience.

Poor old Cal Scott. He fell off the right wing fence for just an evening and it's come back to bite him. I'm pretty sure the tea ba$$ers in this area will never forgive him.

To all the city and doughnut residents that want to be under Whitefish City control you will see support from some of the candidates to help you rule without representation.
I urge you to support the candidate that will restore the doughnut to the county as it should be. To all the doughnut residents and city residents that support the city in controlling the doughnut: Move into the city limits or purchase the doughnut property and annex it into the city-I would be happy to sell you my property and move away from the dictatorship of Whitefish!!! The doughnut issue has devalued my property greatly and seems to me it is a taking by government without just compensation as well. The city will be facing more litigation if their tactics continue and the county may as well if they back down.
