I have been to every single meeting, Darlene ruled with an iron fist, My neighbor was also working in the office with Darlene for over 3 years and would tell you the same exact thing, Darlene ran her out of the county when she disagreed with her. Just as the President is responsible for his programs, good or bad, Darlene is responsible for her programs, good or bad.

Native, we can go at each other for weeks, and never agree, I have attended every single meeting since the day I stepped into this county over 25 years ago, I have written letters since the day, West Valley School told me I didn't have anything to say because I don't have kids in school here. When the Incident with Cindy came up, I wrote a number of letters over Darlene not prosecuting her for the theft of funds.

Believe me, I am VERY involved in school matters!

The School Board must approve fiscal policies. Each School Board meeting is open to the public and grants the opportunity for public input. Decisions are not made in a vaccuum in a uni-lateral fashion and Darlene is not personally responsible for each and every decision, be it one deemed good or bad, that is made within the District.

Darlene's fiscal policies are some of the worst I have ever seen, she has cost this school district millions of dollars and continued to have the balls to keep asking for more.

I have lived in various areas in Montana but spent most of my time here in the Flathead Valley. Darlene Schottle has provided the leadership to give students a quality education and been a great Captain at the helm in the diversity of the Kalispell Public Schools. SD5 has consistently rated near the top of AA schools in the State. I for one will be saddened to see her leave.

I am quite impressed with Darlene Schottle's performance as Superintendent of public schools. Having had a daughter go through the Flathead High School’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme/ On to Wheaton College in Illinois then to UW School of Medicine in Seattle. Wow....Education in the public schools has taken one giant leap for our children and given me faith and hope for a better local, state, and national future.

After the situation when the activities director embezzled all that money and she wouldn't prosecute, she should have been fired on the spot. The thief claimed she only took about 12K, when it was all said and done, it was much more!

She has not been good for the kids or the school district and it is not soon enough, she should have retired or got fired years ago.

good ridance. I washed my hands of this woman when she said she "will make the taxpayers pay". that is all she was interested in. She should have been fired for that statement. Small wonder the children have so many problems in this district. When you have teachers smoking pot how much teaching can be going on ?

Her hands should be behind her in cuffs for all the money taken from the taxpayers while she was superintendent. Sad thing, with the NEA, we have no chance of getting anybody less damaging.

"Helping them {the school board} to have a clear vision of where they want this district to go is essential. This sentence in a nutshell explains what has gone wrong in this district the last 11 years. 44 board members while she has been here, why so many? Do they become disillusioned and quit after you help them find their vision. I have known several ex board members and frustrated is the word that comes to mind describing their experience working with her. Control freak and compulsive liar would be others. It is long past time for her to leave.
