A 53-year-old Columbia Falls man pleaded not guilty Thursday in Flathead District Court to what would be his fourth offense of driving under the influence.

According to a court document, a Montana Highway Patrol trooper responded to a private Plum Creek property in the evening on Jan. 1 for a driver, later identified as Terry Seliger, who had entered the property.

He should at least be convicted before he is locked up, of course, I forgot this is the Flathead, where everyone is guilty, until proven innocent.

He should definitely be locked up for his drinking and driving problem but...

I thought that if you were on "private" property, you could not be cited for rules of the road??

For instance: You could drive a vehicle that was otherwise illegal or say a minor could
            drive the farm truck...

I may be wrong, but was curious...
