The famed Jesus statue on Big Mountain can remain where it is — at least for now — thanks to a ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Dana Christensen that was announced on Monday.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation had challenged the legality of the statue because it is located on national forest land above Chair 2 at Whitefish Mountain Resort.

Maybe we need a different type of statue at the top of each chair lift . Then every one would be happy . Tourists would love it , " Go over and stand by this or that religious statue and I will take your picture " .

Wow, it's obvious someone doesn't understand religion.

Lies follow lies. Sure it is a memorial to verterans - right! The worlds bully of Christanity abuses and wins again. If the world stopped believing in mythical beings think of the dollars they could give to good causes. But if religion ended what excuse would be used to attack, kill, rape and abuse children.
Ignorance and mythology is alive and well in the Flathead and a sad day for truth and common sense.

How is it possible that this has dragged on for so, so long? Man, people are just burning dollar bills on this. Love the ruling. Well written and pretty clear on the "legal" reasons it can be allowed to stay. Just silly
