Construction is under way for a new Applebee’s at Spring Prairie Center near Costco, with a target opening date of Nov. 7, according to Eric Whirley, Applebee’s Montana operations director.

the reason the current applebees does so well is because we have so few dining options in Kalispell. They don't serve good food, their drinks are watered down and the service is poor. Why on earth do we need 2 of these?! Give us some variety. if you are going to stick with national chains how about a Buffalo Wild Wings? A place like that would do fantastic around here.

The person asking about the liquor license: it is owned by the Ryan group so they use the same license for both applebees and famous daves

The old Sizzler was one of our favorites. The new one, well we tried it three times, thinking the first two visits were just bad days maybe. Ick. What a shame.

There are only so many slices of pie to go around here... Super one's store in the old tidymans is on the verge of closing... things that seem to work here business wise, get exploited and fold after a stretch of time. like the pot shops, , furniture stores, casinos, car dealerships, etc... we already have a ton of empty business's here. lets over build over expose, over do, and next thing you now, people will drive from Canada to see the newest "modern ghost town".

Does anyone know where Applebee's got their liquor license for the new store, and what the $ was for it?

Sizzlers didn't have a liquor license-- which is why the Applebee's will succeed. In BOTH locations. Applebee's is the first national chain to shrug and pay the ridiculous fee (north of $350,000), and they did fine in kalispell. Famous Dave's shrugged and paid it too, and they're doing great as well.

Good luck with moving next to all the other businesses. This sounds like Sizzler all over again with trying to operate two restaurants in close proximity to each other. I give it until March before the Evergreen Applebee's closes down making the Evergreen Strip even more of a ghost town. Sad.
