Changes might be in store for the state wastewater discharge permit for Columbia Falls Aluminum Co.

The Montana Department of Environmental Quality issued a public notice about the plant’s permit on Feb. 18. Typically, wastewater discharge permits are updated every five years, and CFAC’s current permit was issued in 1999.

I wonder how much of that toxic waste has been (or is) making it's way into Flathead lake? Are the trout dangerous to consume? Who is responsible for this toxic dump, and who is going to pay for the clean up? The new owners don't seem to have much interest in CFAC anymore (if they ever did).

This situation is EXACTLY why environmentalists hate large, polluting, corporations, especially the ones based in foreign countries who pollute here without a care in the world, and apparently with no responsibility to clean up their own mess!!!
