With a line of several hundred people snaking through a jam-packed parking lot and rock anthem music blaring from speakers, the grand opening of the Kalispell Cabela’s Outpost store resembled something close to a sporting event Thursday.

Shortly before the 11 a.m. opening, Tommy Millner, the Nebraska-based company’s chief executive officer, gathered employees (also known as “outfitters”) at the front of the store for a rousing pep talk.

I buy on line and get better/cheeper products and deal with less human error ( misinformed / ill-trained personnel ) and plus I don't burn up$10.00 in gas going to and from Kalispelll.[beam]

I'm sure it's great and I hope they do well, but I'll be a Snappy guy.

By the way, I did stop into the store last night and it was the first time I actually was able to purchase ammo for my guns, they had hundreds of boxes of .270 and .308, which neither Snappys or Sportsman has had for quite a while.

Sorry about the multiple posts, it seems the Interlake is changing their comment section and I have noticed there is several articles with multiple comments from the same person, looks like a glitch in the system!

This is the third advertisment disguised as a news story for the Cabela opening. While the Daily Interlake often runs articles of interest about new business ventures, usually "Mom and Pop" - I can't remember ever seeing more than one on a new opening. But Cabela and I think the natural food store that opened in the old Border's...multiple. I hope all businesses in the Flathead do well, but I happen to like our small stores and find myself annoyed at the extra attention the DIL is giving the large chain stores when they arrive.

I was there on Tuesday night and was not impressed... My question is this, why was a taxpayer funded city police officer keeping the peace, ( loss prevention ) at a private business? Surely a company like Cabela"s can afford their own security...

Why even worry about, everybody does what they do because they want to, if they wanted to stand inline to get in first, that is their business. Geeze worry about yourself and let them worry about what they do.

Why even worry about it? People must have felt a reason to stand in line for so long, I don't know why those who don't feel compelled even worry about it, let them do what they want to do.
