'Regarding property tax reform, Brodehl supports a flat tax where everyone pays the same rate as a middle ground to the current system, which is based on property value.

“If you drive on the road and I drive on the road, should one of us pay more because we live in a different neighborhood?” Brodehl asked.'

So Brodehl thinks a person who owns a million dollar mansion or has hundreds of acres of property should pay the same property tax as a person who has a small house, or a trailer, or undeveloped property, or only owns an acre or less of property. Interesting.

Since government needs X number of dollars for law enforcement, firefighters, etc., lowering the taxes for Canadians, Californians, people with lake shore property, or million dollar mansions, means people in Kalispell, Columbia Falls, or property in much of the county will see their property taxes raised.

            Sounds fair. [innocent]

And Brodehl apparently thinks property taxes are only used to pay for roads since that is his standard for paying property taxes? After all, a person with a mansion doesn't use any more law enforcement or firefighter resources than a person with an acre of undeveloped property, right? And obviously a person with an acre of undeveloped property drives on the road just as much as a person in a mansion, right? I'm sure he drives from his undeveloped property to work or school every day, right? And a person with multiple properties drives on the road only as much with a person with one property and therefore they should pay the same rate. And since Brodehl wants to set property taxes based on people driving on the road, then taxes should be based on family size. After all, a single person obviously uses the road less than a family of four and therefore a family of four should pay more property tax than a single person.

RussCrowder, I totally disagree with you on this one!!!! There are three relevant words for anyone thinking of voting Democratic in the upcoming election: "Barrack Hussein Obama".

Geez, it has been shown again and again that "obamacare" is a trainwreck of epic proportions, and still there are democrats singing the praises of this idiot mistake. Does anyone really want a panel of (unelected) bureaucrats making healthcare decisions based upon budgetary constraints? Yes, that is in the law. Does anyone want "Director" Sibelius given unrestricted power (Yes, UNRESTRICTED) in the gov't's monkey-mitts fine tuning of healthcare? Get real! Only a total idiot would put their wellbeing in gov't control. Don't vote demo/communist.

To anyone considering voting for a Democrat this year, there is only one relevant word: "OBAMA" !
