Edgerton School is getting a new parking lot this summer.

The old lot at the elementary school has been ripped out and workers will pave a new lot over the next several weeks. The parking lot’s flow may change slightly but will be “in the same footprint,” Kalispell Superintendent Darlene Schottle said.

It never fails to amuse me that retiree can always be counted on to make a statement of opinion on subjects that he knows nothing about. The parking lot at Edgerton was never installed right in 1986 when the project was done by Swank. It has been one patch job after another since then, hopefully this time it will be done better than first time.

It never fails to amuse me at what the district deems important. The road where I live is 5x the size of the parking lot and drive to Whitefish Stage from Edgerton and also over 35 years old and we have repaired and fixed potholes as needed. The point is that our road is pretty much in perfect condition with a resurfacing every ten years at a fraction of the cost the district is paying for a whole new from the base up parking lot and driveway. Just goes to show that you better use it or lose it (the budge money) which continues to be district philosophy.
