In a stunning reversal of expectations,  Whitefish School Superintendent Kate Orozco on Monday night changed her recommendation not to renew the contract of Whitefish High School Principal Dave Carlson.

The Whitefish School Board then voted in favor of Orozco's recommendation to keep Carlson on the job.

            Mr. Carlson

We all know you were brought in to make changes. We also know some of the teachers and some at the union don't like changes. Please continue to change to give our kids the chance to be sucessful. Keep up the good work!

            Thank you!!

            Mr. Carlson

You were brought in to make some changes. Some of the teachers and the union don't like it. Keep up the good work. Our educational process is more than a new building. We still need to make the necessary changes to help our community have a first rate education for our kids. Thanks you!!!!

Good grief Kate! Talk about destroying confidence and respect. In all my years of education and school board admin, this tops the cake!

This is going to be ugly tonight --- after 19,000,000 votes of confidence -- they do this.

What on Earth is this school board and new super thinking? Sounds like they all got caught starting summer vacation early. Either way they will have zero credibility. Just when our Senior High was turning a corner and building some credibility, school spirit, an optimism. Way to go in trashing that. I hope Mr Carlson gets a good attorney and kicks some hind quarters.Wait, that will cost the district money. Guess stupidity is expensive.
