While this certainly is tragic, a lot of presumptions are being made prior to the facts being known. As in most situations like this there will be at least two sides. Seems a little premature to be lining up. In the bigger picture, this will be interesting fodder for 1) Domestic violence 2) Using deadly force for self-defense and 3) the relative merits for or against gun control. I do have to say though, judging from the pictures in the paper, that these people could not ever be accused of being yuppies. But, if history is any judge, it won't matter if thie victim was a saint, there will be those who will paint him a monster. Likewise, the suspect may have been getting beaten within an inch of her life, and yet there will be those who will hold her to blame. Typical lose-lose in the game of life.

What you said Cuzican is very mean! He has family and friends that love him and miss him and what you said hurts his family. I know because he was my cousin. We all have great memories with and of him. This is a local tradgety so of course its going to make headlines. So next time please think about who your effecting with your words.

I am so heart broken. Odie could teach all of us a thing or two about friendship, kindness, and compassion. The circumstances surrounding his departure from this life are nothing but tragic and shame on you Cuzican for contaminating this sad, sad time for the people who love him and our small town with your ignorant and callous words. Odie will be missed severely by countless individuals. Please think before you speak.

Cuzican, FU! Odie was my friend. I wish it was you instead.

Cuzican, you are an inconsiderate simpleton. Next time that stupid mouth of yours leapfrogs the brainless container that is situated upon your shoulders, why don't you think about what you're going to write before you do so, and how it might affect others. I doubt you'll do this, so we'll just keep it simple. Next time you think you might say something inconsiderate, do the world a favor and pull your bottom lip over your head and swallow.

Cuzican, though you have a point on other stories not being covered, the man shot & killed was a old friend of mine. I may not have seen him in years, but a friend just the same. What I remember of him is a kind heart & a gentle hand. You should be more considerate at least. Life is life. I second spike, not all people from Whitefish are yuppies or drunks. He was a volunteer firefighter for years. Maybe you should try an be a heartless person about it to one of the people that knew him.... before you have such crap to say!

Yes, Cuzican, your comment is offensive in so many ways. Not all people in WF are yuppies or drunk and a local incident should definitely prevail over national news. And don't be so crude. A death is a death regardless. The man that was shot may have had a mother, father, kids and friends that will miss him and it is unfortunate.

Your reading comprehension is questionable. This is the Daily Interlake. Why wouldn't a local homicide lead over a national homicide? Not to mention your comment makes all kinds of assumptions about how the incident in Whitefish may or may not have occurred. I'm glad you're not the one investigating it.

Kyle was also a liar in my opinion. He claimed to have punched Jesse Ventura for a comment about 9-111 that he didnt like. Even if true, what "hero" of America hits a man for using his 4th amendment? As far a news worthy, what happens here in our county is just as important.

We lost a great American Hero yesterday when Chris Kyle was murdered in Texas. Yet not even a sentence about it from the DIL.
Yet a couple of drunk yuppys from Whitefish get in a little scrap where the lady shoots her husband, probably in self defense, and its front page headline material?
