Law roundup: Large prescription delivery interrupted

| February 24, 2022 12:00 AM

A pharmacy employee raised concerns with the Columbia Falls Police Department regarding an individual allegedly sending an Uber to pick up their prescriptions more than once. The employee became suspicious of fraudulent activity when the phone number associated with the original prescription call-in order, which was for a large amount of medication, went to an out-of-state emergency room doctor.

A later follow-up report on the possible fraud allegedly resulted in getting information about the Uber driver being used in an attempt to pick up the prescription and take it to UPS to be shipped out of state, information that the driver didn’t have.

Someone reportedly had video footage of a green delivery truck ramming the side of a building on Ninth Street and leaving the scene.

A woman calling from Diane Road claimed medications and documents were missing from her residence. There weren’t signs of forced entry, however, she believed the alleged burglar gained entry through an unlocked sliding door.

A very intoxicated 21-year-old man driving a van reportedly tried to break into a house on Seventh Street and grabbed a woman’s hair and ripped it out. He was taken to jail.

A woman called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office claiming someone put a “vulgar sticker” on her vehicle and she wanted to find out what could be done about the situation.

A school bus reportedly ran a stoplight.

A man was allegedly being a traffic hazard when he was seen running back and forth from the westbound to eastbound lanes on U.S. 2 in Kalispell, then stopping for a brief moment on the median, waving his hands and arms.

Someone walking on the Rails to Trails path in Kalispell was reportedly concerned about people camping under the bridge and leaving trash around after seeing people covered in blankets surrounded by a lot of trash and belongings.

A stop sign was missing on Church Drive.

A metal toolbox that possibly fell off a truck was partially blocking traffic in Kalispell.

A passerby claimed three people were getting very close to a herd of elk and were trespassing on a property, which the passerby didn’t own, located on the west side of Montana 206.
