The Montana Department of Transportation is proposing a project to mitigate the potential of dangerous rockfall along a half a mile of U.S. 2 about 12 miles west of Libby.

Proposed work includes rock scaling, blasting, installation of rockfall mitigation structures, and cleaning the roadside ditch. Other work includes replacement of concrete barrier rail and signing.

Construction is tentatively planned for 2022, depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new Right-of-Way or utility relocations will be needed.
