LIBBY — Levi Peterson and Scout Nadeau each won twice Saturday, and Bigfork swept all four relay races on the way to the team titles at the Libby Invitational track and field meet.

Problems with the automatic timing system kept the results for both 100-meter dashes from being available Saturday; nonetheless the Vikings and Valkyries easily won the team titles for the meet, which scored the top five places (8-6-4-2-1) in each event.

Peterson won the long and triple jump for the Vikings, and his winning triple jump of 41 feet is now No. 2 in Class B.

Also for Bigfork, Jack Jensen’s winning 1,600 time of 4:47.0 sits No. 2 in Class B.

Meanwhile Thompson Falls’ William Hyatt won the 3,200 in a Class B-best 10:16.6 (Bigfork’s Elliot Sanford sits fourth after running 10:50.26 Saturday).

Wyatt Johnson of Bigfork and Eureka’s Carson Komac split the hurdles races, with Johnson ranking second in B in the 110s (16.55) and Komac sitting second in the 300s (43.68, with Johnson right behind at 43.77).

The Vikings’ Braeden Guse ranks sixth in the shot put and second in the discus; he won the latter with a mark of 132-4.

Maddox Mater ran a solid 54.10 to finish second in the 400 for the Vikings, who also have Joseph Farrier (javelin), Jacob Buckingham (both hurdles) and Cole Knopik (110 hurdles) among the top 6 in Class B.

Libby’s Jeremy Bockus won the 400 in 53.2 seconds, the No. 2 time in Class A, and teammate Trey Andersen became the second Class A athlete to clear 6 feet in the high jump..

Cy Stevenson of Libby ran a solid third-place time of 24.53 in 200, and his winning shot put mark of 46-3 ranks No. 4 in Class A.

Teammate Dawson Rose became the third A vaulter to clear 12-0.

On the girls side, Nadeau won the shot put and the discus, and teammate Chloe Raats ran among the fastest 400 meters in Class B (62.78).

Nadeau’s discus throw of 93-9 ranks sixth in B; Bigfork’s Madison Chappuis and Zoey Albert are both in the top five in the javelin, with Chappuis winning at 109-10.

Eureka’s Remmi Stenger cleared 5-2 to move into the top three in Class B in the high jump.

Among Class A athletes, Kiara Iron Heart of Browning swept the 800 (2:38.0) and 1,600 (5:57.65). Both times rank her in the top 6 in her class.

Libby’s girls had several solid marks: Rylee Boltz now has the fastest 400 in Class A (63.11); Aurora Smith won the 300 hurdles in 52.33, which sits fifth in the class; Madison Caruthers is among several Class A girls to clear 8-0 in the pole vault.
