Physical therapist Patrick Gulick, owner of OrthoRehab Physical Therapy, was elected to the Flathead Valley Community College Board of Trustees by acclamation during the board’s April 2 special telephone conference meeting.

Gulick filed the sole opening on the board for the Kalispell/Glacier High School District and will serve a three-year term. The position was previously held by Stephanie Wallace. The board was able to cancel the trustee election, scheduled for May 5, by electing Gulick by acclamation, saving the college between $15,000 and $20,000.

“First and foremost, I look at FVCC as a great community partner and organization — and essentially who doesn’t want to be a part of that?” Gullick said.

He has worked with the college in the past to develop its physical therapist assistant program. He also admires how FVCC identifies and establishes degree programs that translate to opportunities in the workforce for students. He hopes to bring a common-sense attitude to the board and a willingness to work with others, form a vision and see that through.

Gulick was born and raised in Whitefish, graduating from Whitefish High School in 1991. He then earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Montana State University and obtained a master’s degree in physical therapy science from the University of Montana in 1998. Gulick and his wife Stephanie have three children and reside in Kalispell. He also serves on the Kidsports Board of Directors, the Daybreak Rotary Board and the Kalispell Youth Softball Association Board.
